Good news for our international customers - particularly those from the US and Canada. Timesheet Portal now features a helpful tool for you. We recognise that taxes and their calculation can be a bothersome issue, fraught with complexities and variations that differ from state to state. As our international user base continues to expand, we were keen to address this challenge.

While this isn’t an entirely new feature, it has now been optimised to meet the needs of customers outside the UK and Europe. You can now create tax rate groups, allowing you to stipulate more than one tax rate on an invoice (e.g. federal tax) and a local rate (e.g. state tax). We hope this will be a significant game changer for both existing and future clients, having identified a considerable gap in the market for this specific feature on other platforms.

Taxing for the US and Canada Clients Made Easier

As explained above, we are now offering our international clients greater flexibility in adjusting their taxes. This aims to reduce the time spent calculating timesheets across various regions where they may be subject to differing tax brackets and more.

This feature can be added by following this path: Settings > Account > Tax Rates > Create New Tax Rate > Create both required tax rates (such as GST and PST). Create a new tax rate and select 'Convert to Tax Rate Group', then choose the two tax rates you wish to group and click ‘Update.’ You can then add this tax rate group to the client record or directly to an invoice.

At Timesheet Portal, we are always looking for ways to give our clients as much value as we can. All of our updates and changes begin with you. Therefore, if you have any complaints, suggestions or would just like to provide feedback - we are waiting to hear from you.
